The Cootes to Escarpment Park System:
A Conservation and Land Management Strategy

Documents: Reports

Here you can download the reports and documents produced during our path-finding project (2007-2009). Reports are arranged below in reverse chonological order of completion (most recent first).

Cootes to Escarpment Park System: Final Phase II Report

In January 2009 we released the first draft of the Phase II report, containing the details of recommendatons about how a major new park system could be established and function. In the first half of 2009, many stakeholders and others provided comments on the report. Editorial work and layout was completed at the begining of November 2009.

Because the high resolution maps that accompany the Phase 2 report are large files, they have been set up here as separate files.

September 2009: Cootes to Escarpment Park System: Summary Report

We've prepared a 12 page colour overview of our vision of the park system. We hope that this encapsulates the vision of the proposed park system.

February 2009: Open House Colour Brochure

A main purpose of the study is to capture and develop a vision for the natural lands in our area to serve both recreational and conservation/biodiversity purposes. In February 2009 we prepared an attractive colour brochure for our open house to begin to express that vision in an accessable and exciting way.

January 2009: Phase II Report - Consultation Draft

The "Phase II" report summarizes the recommendations from our consultations with stakeholders, the general public and specialists working for conservation land owning agencies about how the park system could be organized. In its present form (as of early Deceber 2008) it was made available for consultation and comment by the public in our Open House in February and our Stakeholder Committee in April. This document will be extensively revised before it appears in its final form in 2009.

January 2008: Phase I Background Report

The "Phase I" background report is a technical overview of the conservation and land management matters for the natural lands within the study area.
