Help Create Gardens that Inspire, Educate, and Flourish
For nearly a century, RBG has been a leader in horticulture, conservation, and education. But our work is far from done. Right now, we’re embarking on an exciting transformation—and we need your help to make it happen.
Why Your Gift Matters:
- Your donation helps create world-class gardens that inspire and educate.
- It supports conservation efforts and the preservation of rare plants.
- Your generosity ensures RBG remains a sanctuary for nature, health, and community.
You can make a one-time gift or become a monthly donor to help us continue our work year-round. Your generosity ensures that RBG remains a place of beauty, education, and conservation for generations to come.

Each of our signature gardens offers something unique. Hendrie Park features themed garden rooms, from the beloved Rose Garden to pollinator-friendly plantings that support butterflies and bees. The Rock Garden is a historic masterpiece of dramatic views and inspiring plant combinations. The Arboretum showcases a vast collection of trees and shrubs from around the world, including rare and endangered species we work to protect. Indoors, the Mediterranean Garden and Breezeway offer a lush oasis of exotic plants and stunning seasonal displays, providing a year-round escape into nature’s
beauty. Meanwhile, Laking Garden holds one of Canada’s most significant perennial collections, home to irises, peonies and other timeless favourites.
But these gardens don’t flourish on their own. They need care, dedication and — most importantly — support from people like you. Without you, we cannot bring our vision for RBG’s future to life.
Right now, you have the power to help us take a bold step forward as a historic transformation begins, transforming our garden spaces into living masterpieces, and we’re committed to creating world-class gardens that inspire and educate.
Our next major horticultural project is the relocation of the historic Laking Garden’s Iris Collection to Hendrie Park after the spring bloom season. These rare and stunning plants deserve a dedicated space to thrive, ensuring they can be enjoyed for generations as part of our future Showcase Gardens in Hendrie Park.
In addition to the irises, other treasured floral collections from Laking Garden will also be relocated, allowing us to better highlight their beauty and significance. Meanwhile, Laking Garden is undergoing an exciting re-imagination process, with more details to be shared in the future as we shape its next chapter.
Last year, thanks to a generous donor, we conducted vital research to assess and benchmark the Iris Collection. We studied the history, rarity and
preservation status of each cultivar. This information is helping us make thoughtful, data-driven decisions about the future of these irises.
But research is only the first step. Now, we need to take action to relocate these plants to continue to expand our gardens in Hendrie Park — and we need your help to do it. Your support today will help us create world-class Showcase Gardens that inspire and educate, funding the transformation of Hendrie Park into a vibrant, immersive experience and ensuring that RBG remains a sanctuary for nature, learning and community gathering.
Your generosity makes these moments possible. At RBG, horticulture is at the heart of our mission, blending artistry with ecological responsibility.
Our gardens are more than stunning landscapes — they are dynamic spaces where biodiversity thrives and plant conservation takes root. Every garden bed
we cultivate, every native species we nurture and every soil-rich habitat we enhance contributes to a healthier, more resilient environment.
Your gift today will help ensure that RBG continues to grow, educate and inspire for generations to come.
Horticulture & Collections at RBG
As a botanical garden, Royal Botanical Gardens acquires, collects, researches, exhibits, conserves and interprets a living horticultural collection. A key component of this role is the work done by the horticulture department which is responsible for 250 acres of cultivated gardens over four garden areas.
With tens of thousands of plants in our cultivated garden areas, there is always something interesting growing at RBG.
